so let it be known that veganism isn't just for hippies.
for instance,
I am not vegan but eat a vegan diet. Occassionally people rag on me for it and I set out to prove myself, or I find a pastry or something that isn't vegan but i like pastry so I go for it. I then eat something with milk or eggs.
Following this, i have encountered these problems:
-Nausea accompanied with severe, sharp stomach pains
-Diarrhea (often "the runs")
-Constipation
-Blood in my stool
-Bloating
-Dehydration / Dizziness
-other forms of discomfort
this has been happening EVERY TIME I eat something with dairy in it or eggs (though MUCH MUCH moreso with dairy) for the past year.
In fact, I know that it is from dairy so well that in Seattle, I drank some Jones soda drink and encoutered some of the symptoms. I was confused, because it was a beverage...a juice drink. I went back and read the ingredients, and the third of forth one was "non-fat skim milk." Apparently it was a smoothie-type-thing. I had only about 1oz worth.
Today i ate a cookie with milk fat (the chips), butter, and 1 egg. I then had enough blood in my stool to look like someone poured red ink in the bowl.
So that said, I'm probably not going to eat anything from animals again anytime soon, due to health issues. People's bodies stop making enzymes for things once we stop eating them for a while, like dairy products or certain animal proteins.
Be nice to your local vegan! It might not be your choice for diet, but it's theirs and picking on them will just make them eat the donut or ice cream and shit blood like me. (holds stomach in pain)
