this is like debating Digital vs Film.

They are a tool, used well they can help add range and variation.

In the end it comes down to the sound you want to produce.

If triggers can give you an extra something then why not hell if you need a 10ft gong for one hit at the end of one song, why not.

Music is all about invention and creativity, the more tools you have the more choice you have.

And yes sometimes simple is best but other times why not go a little crazy.

Music is about imagination and feel not about technical ability.

In the end technique, acoustic drums, electronic pads, cymbals, triggers, etc... etc...

are all just tools to release the creativity you have inside you.

If it sounds right who cares what you used to create it.
