This is what i was trying to describe about the backplate:

Notice the NO made in japan on the back of the headstock:

Does anybody know what is mounted between the tremelo springs????

ITs called the Back stop powerplay system(paten, by flyd rose exculsivelly for the edge and top lokIII floating tremelos)
Its pretty cool idea , i wish they still made them these days. It basically allows you to set the tention and slack of your wammy bar usage, u can set it tighter so your right hand dos not influence the temolo while palm muting, set it for how much up you can pull the wammy bar up , or dive bombs. And when you return the bar in home postion your STILL IN TUNE! (i allso have a copy of how this works allso)

You may be thinking why does brian know all this un-needed info on ibanez guitars?? I bought this guitar used when i was sixteen(that started the love affair) then from there on i mostally only bought Ibanez guitars, ive owned 5 ibanez 's over the past 11 yrs. Ill miss this guitar, cause of the memories we have shared and been thru( like the 99' milawakee metal fest and the 2000 jersey metal fest, i have pics of me rocking out on stage with her, and all those first 4yrs of anoxia practices and gigs) But like an ex-girlfriend, i must move on..............Cause i have 2 new whores now.
