Cherry Street Station is a bar. Yes, the train does go by there. It's not huge so it's an awesome place to see a show. You walk in and the stage is right to your right. It's level to the street so loading in is a piece of cake. There is a parking lot right in front which is much appreciated considering it's such an issue with a lot of venues in more populated areas. Past the stage you walk up a few steps and you're at the bar. The view from there is great. Renevations are going to happen soon where they will knock out a wall so that from every seat at the bar you can see the stage. Right now the performing area is level with the ground but a raised stage will be built soon. Unfortunetely not too many people know about it so it's not super popular. There's a pool table and Dennis, the owner runs the place himself with some help sometimes and he is a really great guy. He's very open to all kinds of music. He's not the kind of venue owner that you want to avoid during the night because he's going to be a jerk to you or complain about something. Instead you just want to hang out with him because he's a really nice guy. He's super laid back and just has a good time. Every show has a professional sound man and everything always sounds good. Everything gets miked and every band does a sound check before they go on. I'm telling you guys, this place is GREAT!!! It might a little bit of a drive for some people but honestly, it's worth it. I've never been to a show there where I have not had a good time. Besides us Clint ( http://www.myspace.com/clitproductions ) and Tom ( he's in Father Panic Riot Orchestra http://www.myspace.com/thefatherpanicriotorchestra and Sea of Bones http://www.myspace.com/seaofbones ) book there as well as the owner. I just can't say enough good things about it. I'm working super hard to bring some great shows there myself because IT'S SUCH A GEM and everyone who goes will have a guaranteed good time! TRUST ME!!! SO I'LL SEE YOU ALL LATER? WE GO ON AT 7:00pm!!!!!
