Death From Above -- I got there late, only saw about 1 minute of these guys. I liked what I saw though.

QOTSA - Fucking awful. Who likes this band? The same riff for the WHOLE SONG. The singer kept undulating like he had to pee. I really was tremendously disappointed in them and I wanted to give them a fair chance. Solos were very very very rudimentary (2-3 notes) and any one of you could have played them with a blindfold on.

NIN - FUCKING AWESOME. Completely the opposite of QOTSA. Great light shows (I want those lights and screens so bad) and they sounded magnificent. I am a huge NIN fan but I have only had the opportunity to see them twice in my life. I will almost never pay $50 for a show (I got to go this time for free since it was a favor to a friend) but even if I had paid, it would have been well worth it. They belted out a ton of songs, had great stage presence, great visual display. Twice last night Trent apologized for the GA seating and said he should have read the contract more thoroughly for that kind of thing. He also said he'd never play a place with GA seating again.

At one point I thought I saw Carina near the stage but maybe not. I was up in Loge 5, Row 20, so who knows. Sitting in a seat to see a rock show is a hard thing, and the dude in front of me was portly enough that when he sat on the back of his chair, his buttocks flopped over onto my knees (really).

All in all, I could go on about how great the show was but I'll just leave it as this band is still relevant, dynamic, and artistic as fuck.
