ok first of all, he probably buys meat and hunts. second, i eat the fish i catch all the time. some fish absorb mercury at different rates. tuna ranks one of the worst fish for it. perch and trout rank higher up on the safe scale. every winter we're on the ice of staffordville lake chasing tipups and pulling up between 6-15 fish every time we go out. if mercurys a real problem, ill be able to poke a hole in my foot and make a thermometer by now. note that i wouldnt eat fish out of any river or lake downstream from boston, springfield, woostah, or any highly populated slimehole like that. northeast CT and up north are fine.
