ive kind of found that i almost enjoy set thru better than neck through sometimes.

Says Blue, as he possibly thinks about perhaps eating a bagel maybe.
Or not.

well i know that for some reason people have become convinced in the past couple of years that neck thru is the pinnacle of neck joint construction (probably because of hype). but 9 times out of 10 i find that that bolt on and set neck offer just as many tone enhancements as neck through, the biggest factor into this being body woods/quality and pickups (duh).

but then again, what do i know. everyone on this board thinks emg 81s are the best humbucker out there.

+1

Any spanish luthier will agree that set necks, boltons, and neckthroughs, when built correctly, will all sustain and sound just fine. The neckthrough has more neck to body resonance... which has nothign to do with your sound once the guitar is actually plugged in.
