hungtableed said:
The idea that global warming is solely caused by industries and cars is a crock of shit. The earth is massive and the power of it in addition to solar and other influences from space is obviously incomprehensible to all the global warming jihadists. I read an article about a big global warming conference and one of the big wig scientists who push this shit admitted that (under questioning) human involvement is only responsible for 4-5% of the warming taking place. You know what else emits carbon? Breathing. I guess we all have to stop breathing because if we don't WE'RE ALL GONNA FUCKING BURN UP - How will we ever be able to look our children in the eye knowing that we screwed everything up for them?
I don't think the point was that it's the sole cause, but it is a factor. If you add up the years that most of civilization has been using as many/much of the natural resources as it has been, and building 'bigger and better' things to use more of the resources, then the issue at hand may become obvious. As for breathing, it's not too much of an issue. Trees and other plants breathe in the carbon dioxide that we breathe out, and then it emits the oxygen that we breathe in. But if people want to stop breathing, I have no issues with that. Yeti said:
a warm winter in no way shape or form signifies climate change. this planet is forever changing every day, we cant expect to have identical weather each season. back when our parents were kids, a warm winter would have been just that, a warm winter. but now, with all this media hype and scare-tactics, a warm winter means the polar ice caps are melting and the ocean is going to rise 300 feet and we are all going to die horribly. if the next 10 winters are all well above average in temperature, then i can see believing that something is off.
Warmer winters may be a red flag. If you care to look up the statistics over the course of the past 10 years, you may notice a thing or two in comparison to say, 50 years ago. Most know that the planet constantly in a state of transition. It's the rate that [some] things are changing that is a concern.
