my view on it is that no one should BELIEVE in something... they should KNOW.
reading a book without a "works cited" section and taking "facts" from it is like claiming something that happened to a friend of a friend's mom's uncle's second cousin's co-worker really happened. you have no way of backing it up.

not to mention if every section of the world has they're own version of "what happened"... it kind of raises more than a few questions about the validity of everyone's story and what is the "ultimate", number 1 truth behind it all. i think of it as a game of "operator".
