All that other bullshit just slows everything down.

my theme and nav port take 84k total.

I think I can spare 84k.

I don't know what you're using, but from past experiences with stardock stuff and windowblinds, it's just wasting resources. The most noticeable element of the desktop are the background, and the menu bar. The background can be whatever you want, and the taskbar can autohide. I just run everything stripped down, like MSD, and all the stuff I use normally is easily accessible from the start menu.

Fancy tweaked out desktops are neat, but it's the equivalent of painting your hammer, or doing some nice calligraphy on your tape measure. Why dick around tweaking the tool, when you could be using the tool instead?

yeah, I hear you. I don't use my computer to look at the pretty desktop. I use it to actually run applications.
