He saw that..well..humanity was overrated because he had no friends and no girls liked him, because he was an idiot, so he had this epiphany that humans in modern societies are no more than drones. Those who didn't follow the masses made their own groups and conformed to those. So he didn't have the balls to face life anymore, make the best of it, rise above the drones, formulate long-term goals, so he wanted to break the cycle and take out a few drones with him.
