Millions of years of evolution... Women tend to be more selective when it comes to breeding. Men compete with each other, and women choose the best mates. Yes, very true. However, the women are usually competing with each other for the attention of men who will compete for them. It's more indirect. It's more like: "I want to be the hottest one so that all the men will be fighting over me, and all the women will be jealous."

Women are bitches. I think we can all agree on that.
