By sticky I wasn't referring to how tacky the finish is, (any poly coat will be tacky to start with), Moreso how it reacts with your hands/sweat. I've found that an unfinished neck plays MUCH smoother for me, since my hands NEVER sweat much and I can slide around on the wood easier than they do on a poly finished (or painted) neck. This one is REALLY personal preference, but there is a definite difference between the two.
