bah, can't edit when not logged in.

what i was saying was dogs evolved differently than cats in relation to their dependencies on humans. cats supposedly used to hang out around human camps and have always been "in the shadow;" whereas dogs (there was an article in national geographic last week) were first used to hunt with the humans, and were perhaps even used as food themselves. dogs and humans evolved together where we both needed eachother to survive, and that kind of relationship is why dogs are dependent.
if you look at wolves, it's the same thing - they are a pack species, while felines are not (in most cases)
