death metal has always been accessible.

by definition, yes, it is, you can go to the store to get it. but by accessibility i mean appealing to the masses. death metal in the 90's was far from accessible, those who were into it weren't into it the way they are now. it took effort to seek out the demo tapes and shows, it was rewarding to be a part of that style. not just anyone played death metal. now it seems that any br00tal kid can download "Stripped, Raped and Strangled", grow his hair and all of a sudden he is into death metal. i see where you're coming from, i'm just stuck in an archaic era that is sorely missed. it seemed that back in the day people were almost born to be into metal, it was either discovered by chance, or divine intervention. now it takes zero effort to get involved, and the old ways have been suffocated to the point of extinction. but again, dementia set in in my old age and causes me to rant incoherently.
