Saw some guy at the EHG show who was trying very very very hard to look like a lumberjack, except he was a scrawny pipsqueak. Full beard, red flannel shirt, heavy wool hat, etc. Are lumberjacks hipster? No, but this kid was clearly a hipster.

So - How to define it then? Nothing "elite" about this kid, but it's painfully clear that he was "going for a look" i.e. wanted his appearance to illicit a response from others. But in the past, this usually fell under the "poser" umbrella. But I think "hipster" goes farther than looks, it's like a full lifestyle of embracing the uncool in order to present an aire of cool - And it's really fucking dumb.

At least wiggers dress like niggers because they actually want to be niggers. There's no way this kid aspires to be a lumberjack.

Come to think of it, I saw quite a few flannels at EHG - Is that a 'thing' again?
