I do not see this and more importantly I do not feel this in the bands that constitute real "black" or "death" metal bands. Dark atmosphere requires REAL darkness.... It requires true death and a true longing for death. It requires the systematic destruction of ego and a unification with the higher self, and this would revolve around higher sorts of souls....

Instead I see vanity and ego worship to a Paris Hilton degree... That is what is called "false"... The true esscense of this divine musick negates the EGO and seeks to crush that false belief... We can see evidence of this in albums like "Altars of Madness" and "Blessed are the Sick"...

Yes it took a EGO to manifest such magnificense and yes it took discipline BUT it was for a higher purpose.... And that is where things fall short nowadays.... For there are too many of the "party" types and far too little of the "Trey Azagthoth" types... This is true...
