it is obvious to me you are going to the wrong local shows if this is all you are seeing and hearing in the scene.
what shows were these exactly that you heard these "jump da fuck up" nu metal bands were they opening for bigger bands and that was who the club chose as the local opener or are these just local shows you went to that these bands were listed as "metal" by the club?
