The wording on the Live Music Showcase website carefully avoids actually saying that A&R are in attendance with the intent to sign an act. It just says they'll be in the audience (presumably paid for their presence by LMS). The testimonials indicate they just give critiques of the performances. Guess it makes it easy for bands who are in a hurry to over-extrapolate what the site actually describes into a "This is our big chance to land a major contract" thing.
