toggletoggle post by brian_dc  at Feb 9,2006 12:30am
I totally didn't see this.

here's the review I put on the other thread

well, this night was fucking awesome.

must've been fucking sweet for Adam and Josh to play with Neuraxis.

Sexcrement-So fucking good. This is their first show, and they already sound head and shoulders above a lot of the bands in the scene. Slammy Death Metal all the way.

Throwing Shrapnel-Played a lot of their old stuff, which was cool to hear again. Doom's vocals were really fucking loud.

Shred the Past-opened up with a pretty loyal tribute of "Breaking the Law" by Judas Priest. Sick high notes, dude. I dug the rest of the stuff, pretty sweet hardcore.

Neuraxis-so good. Only one guitarist but still had that nice full sound. What is it with Canadian bands with having one guitarist live and still pulling it off? Also, what's with Canadian bands with sick drummers? They've got Flo, the dude from Despised Icon, and this guy...really tight. I thought it was fucking awesome that Adam got to take one song and Josh played bass to finish the set. Josh played so dead on, you could've fooled me who the real full-time bassist of Neuraxis was. No offense to The Beast.

This show was fucking awesome.

Sexcrement was great... that was a hell of a first show. I really look forward to playing with them in the future.

And congrats to Josh and Adam for getting the chance to play with Neuraxis, you guys killed up there!

is The Beast the full time bassist for Neuraxis now?? I thought he was just filling in for Yan on this tour?

He did a great job though. With only one guitar and his bass-playing style which differs from Yan's somewhat, the songs I'm used to from the records sounded unique and a bit different. That was very cool.

dwyer...that alienation mental cd is the shit, by the way

I do have to say, I was in Providence on Tuesday and there were flyers EVERYWHERE! Whoever flyered for this show dida great job. I especially liked the upsidedown cross on Thayer Street.

toggletoggle post by KeithMutiny  at Feb 9,2006 5:14pm
i would venture to say that was mr brendan, but i may be wrong.

toggletoggle post by CrypticPhil at Feb 9,2006 5:14pm

I think his brain secretes heavy amounts of meth whenever he plays

I'm glad that you enjoy it, I knew you would.

All ALIENATION MENTAL CDs are good, except their latest, it's titled "Psychopathicolorspectrum", avoid that like AIDS, it's KOrN worship.

toggletoggle post by mark fucking richards at Feb 9,2006 7:32pm
haha, i noticed a bit of korn worship on ball spouter...i think it's track 5, with the turntables and shit. fucking weird as hell. they have the worst english in the WORLD, hahah

i suppose i should give a review...

al glassman: touched my balls too much

sexcrement: for our first show, i am beyond pleased. awesome turnout for a wednesday night, fun atmosphere, cool place to play. i was a bit worried that one of us would fuck something up, but i think we played everything tighter than we ever have. hopefully i can get some new tubes soon so i can turn it up to 11 for the meedly meedlies. adam got a huge chunk of his hair ripped out too, gahddamn.

throwing shrapnel: the only other time i've seen them was at the natick center for performing arts, and the sound blew. they sounded fucking awesome last night though. except the first song, because i was too busy droppin the deuce in the shitter.

shred the past: even though the mic kept cutting out, awesome set. i kind of wish there was a little more distortion on the guitar, and it would have been perfect.

neuraxis: these guys never cease to amaze me. even with 1 guitarist, as brian dc said, the sound was full as hell. their stage presence is nearly flawless. i like how ian (the singer) hit anthony from cryptic warning in the head to the beat of one of the songs, haha. and of course, closing the set with josh staples on bass made last night probably one of the greatest shows i've ever been part of.

now it's your turn rev!!! haha

it was two hits on the top of my head and then a slap to either side of my face. ian is hilarious

i was surprised that cross lasted so long.

it was taken down the day of the show. while i was at asian paradise.

asian paradise rules.

thank you everyone for coming out. that was a great time. who knows, maybe i'll do more stuff in the future.

extra big thanks to all the bands. all of you destroyed.

one love.

no rev review

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Feb 10,2006 1:45pm
bitch bitch bitch

Sexcrement: like my complant at just about every single concert I've been to lately. the vocals were way too high and everything else too low. it's funny cause just about all the bands asked for the vocals to be turned up too. adam was doing highs for the first song or too which he never does in goratory. the songs were sort of a mix of tyag and goratory with mark doing some backups. I always forget that goratory fans just beat the crap out of each other.

toggletoggle post by BSV@school at Feb 10,2006 1:45pm
I'll do one,
sexcrement set list - parapalygic pussy pounder/menstraul moneyshot/gloryhole casserole/colonel angus/granny tranny midget fetish - thanks again to everyone who came out.
throwing shrapnel - i was busy loading out and helping neuraxis with merch but the bass sounded sick.
shred the past - i liked from start to finish, i hope they play more shows. it's good to see more thrash bands around.
neuraxis - excellent set. right on with two cabs, ian sounded very strong, tommy was precise and jean francois "the beast" houle was awesome in the shoes of yan. they played many of my favorites. hope everyone liked the song we played, it was very difficult, i havn't played that fast since Ascendancy.

the beast is also in Horifixion. He gave me this mint tape of his old band, Apolyaptic Fear. he has mean vokills too. definately cool hanging out with them for a few days, they loved my mothers cooking and they love playing here in new england. be sure to check them out on metalfest!

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Feb 10,2006 1:56pm
throwing shrapnel: they had some help from the audience. at some point, keith started bleeding booger blood out his nose.

shred the past: they started off with a judas priest cover. dave, you still have too much hair to do that. the rest of the set was trashy metal.

neuraxis: they ruled. I honestly only recognized the singer from when I saw them before. they also only had one guitar players which kind of sucked. adam got up and screamed one of the songs, then for the last track, josh hopped on bass.

toggletoggle post by diamond_dave  at Feb 10,2006 4:45pm
thanks for all the positive comments, everyone. thanks revered for coming out.
we'd like to play more shows too; it's tough because everyone's in at least 2 bands. it's been touch and go with this band form the get-go, but hopefully we'll be able to pick up the pace this spring/summer.
