the best fest in the US is heathen crusade. if i could, i would have gone to it this year and last year. the guy who books that fest actually gets bands that never play in the US. NEMHF never does that.

COME ON MAN lets get some different shit on this fest for christ sake! I've been to every single fest since the beginning....I don't complain... I have fun....but this is pathetic....yeah some good bands but the good ones play every fucking year and the bad ones get worse and worse. If I had a bullet I would make the devil wears prada my Valentine and shoot them all for singing sad songs about how much they hate their ex girlfriends and wish they would love them again. The only plus side to this festival is that there will be no line at the bar. The Palladium better get a baby changing station and stock up on Coca Cola. They should put a sign out side with one of those lines that says you must be this tall to enter.

when was the last time many of these bands came around....

Vile, Aborted, God Dethroned (its metalblade's anniversary right?), Deeds of Flesh, Aeon, Monstrosity, Dismember, Servere Torture, Malevolent Creation, Die Alone, Abysmal Torment, Amon Amarth, Blood Red Throne, Bloodbath, Mortal Decay, Decapitated, Decrepit Birth, The Yattering, Vader, Spawn of Possession, Napalm Death, Sinister, Myrkskog, Leng Tch'e, Gorerotted, Dying Fetus, FUCKING FLESHCRAWL come on man!!!! WHAT THE FUCK!!!

I don't get how people can stand All Shall Perish. I bought their album on a whim, and the first track comes out blazing. Quickly, it starts to drag, and the entire album just dies. The speed dies, the riffs die, the drumming starts to be uber-weak. I'm so sick of those bands. The Faceless puts all bands in that genre (except for some genre-benders like Despised Icon, Ion Dissonance, and a few others) to fucking shame. I'm glad they've set the bar so high, let the drop-off begin.

WHO'S WITH ME?

I went to see 3 inches of blood at the palladium, and Cradle of Filth was headlining. I found out at that show that if a dude is wearing makeup, you can walk right up to him and say "that makeup makes you look like a queer" and he won't do anything at all about it. I tested this four times at that show and the worst thing that happened was one of the queers calling me a faggot.

Behemoth...add them to another band I don't mind seeing...even if it's for the millionth time.

I can't believe a band called themselves The Devil Wears Prada.

That will never happen.

some new bands have been added on the NEMHF myspace page... makes it a bit more interesting

Friday: Behemoth / 3 Inches Of Blood

Saturday: God Dethroned / Impias (which I assume is IMPIOUS)

Woah, God Dethroned? Nice.

That is true.

They should put Anal Cunt and Hatebreed on the same stage again so that all of the metalcore kids can be confused when another riot breaks out.

What do you do with the D-cells? Throw them at people? When I was about 14 we used to go to the mall and wing AAs at the mall santa around christmas time. that was fun.

^^ only to you because of your taste in bands

i'm definitely goin on saturday

also, you can't blame them for putting all the crap bands that draw on(maybe there'd be more "good" bands if they brought more than 30 people), they gotta cover their ass

Can someone that has played metal fest please address this: Is there a guest list for ALL bands playing the fest? Can you get in free on the day your not playing? We've never played this fest before and are in the dark with the above mentioned...oh yeah we are playing Saturday at 1:00pm on the second stage (yeah the shit spot) but we're all just excited to be on this fest considering we've all been going for years now...can't wait!!! getting closer!

toggletoggle post by xmikex at Apr 18,2007 11:15am
hey be careful. don't tell anyone you're playing metalfest. scott lee HATES IT when bands casually announce they're playing a show he's booking.

i'm going both days i am driving there and back to my house both days by myself... not reallya good idea kinda my fault since the person im selling my other ticket too is going with a different group of people....

and for the record a few years ago i went to see darkest hour at the palladium i was to be on the guest list go up to the window and they look at me like im crazy... lucky for me i had the email from the guitarist mike saying i was to get in for free and showed it to their bass player paul and tito i got two free shirts from them and now whenever dh comes to town i get to go for free... but yeah the palladium sucks on the guest lists.

haha i've raised some hell at the Crown Plaza. i love how the back balconies overlook the beautiful and scenic Highland St and Worcester PD.

i hear that all types of shit goes down in those hotels.
i'm surprised that they rent rooms to anyone under the age of 30 during metal fest weekend.

toggletoggle post by Yeti at Apr 18,2007 3:28pm
that one for some reason doesnt mind huge parties. i went to a bachelor party there, a hall had originally been rented but they bailed at the last second, so the guys organizing the party called up all kinds of hotels, and the only one that allowed it to happen was the Crown near the Palladium. they even rented it on the premise of like 40 people, strippers, boatloads of booze, and didnt say anything. i caused some damage there and they never contacted any of the guys who rented it about anything.

just found out bands DO get a comp pass for the day they aren't playing (good news) and there is some type of guest list, but we'll see how that pans out...
oh yeah since we're really trying to get people there for our early set we're going to be GIVING AWAY AT THE TIME OF OUR PERFORMANCE FREEEEEEE SHIRTS, CD'S, AND STICKERS.
Yeah I know everyone and there mother is giving away free shit (last year I had so much free crap)...so in keeping with tradition we'll be giving some free stuff away also...so PLEASE get there for when we play and you'll get some free shit.....tradition!
I know it's early but we plan on setting the tone for the day and destroying the place!

There have been a couple of years when I didn't go to the metal fest, but I went to the parties at the Crowne Plaza after the show. People in bands who played would ask me how I liked the show, and I would be like, "Ha ha! I didn't go because the line-up sucked this year!" LOL!

I doubt that will be possible. It's really unlikely that The Palladium will allow re-entry. They probably won't even let people outside to smoke.

Buy a bunch of nips and hide them in your bra.

They always have re-entry until about 5 or 6pm, and after that I can still come and go with my pass...at least I could last year. I miss when they let you do whatever the fuck you wanted.
