ok, there were tons and tons of people there. tons of regular kids that I see at all the shows. Actually, if the originals weren't there, there where little 16-year-old versions of them...
That place was pretty tight for the beginning part of the night.
Lots of younger kids. I must say that when I was 16 all I did was listen to the cure/pixies/pigface/cannibal corpse, watch TV, and jerk off. good that these kids are out doing different things.
though all the 17-year-olds are out there screwing the 16-year-olds.

of empty words: my flash was all sorts of messed up so I old got a few pictures of them. I can't say that I'm sad... pretty sure they just did a constant godsmack cover ("I'm doing the best I ever did"). though hybrid jumped out and sang a bit with them.

alternate ending: "what should I expect" - me

"expectations lowered" - me
I heard really bad things about this band... pop punk with screaming vocals, but they changed their style when they changed their name. they weren't that bad. underoath-ish, but with piano parts (instead of straight synths). They also didn't have many screaming lead vocals. it was all sung in a clean "stretch armstrong" voice.

the hostage heart: this was the reason that I went to the show. I'm probably like the offical THH photographer or something... it's like I've been to all their shows. They just get more and more comfortable with what they are doing and are able to more things with their performance; flipping guitar, faking me out, polish head banging, jumping, etc... I totally see good things in the future for this band. I bet they will be on metal fest too.
when they get a few more songs, they are playing on RTTP.

good to see you in our neck of the woods rev. of empty words has 3 originals and they had to do a cover cause they needed them to fill some set time (fear factory cover), however jumping in for "tommy gill", their freestyle mosh extravaganza was a blast.

dude, who's dissin slipknot?! FUCK! we love the knot, they are such a huge influence in our songwriting. we'll be writing a song, and can't think of a part, and i'll say to the guys "what would slipknot do?" and automatically one of us comes up with the (sic)est riff you ever heard.

but seriously. rev, thanks for coming out and taking some more pictures of our stank asses. you don't even know, i was planning that fakeout since before our set. and it worked! haha, i'm so stoked on it. thanks for the great review, too. see you in february.

PS-nobody got it when chris introduced us as the hostage heart from des moines, iowa. just wait....'here comes the pain!!!!'

The Alternate Ending sucks. Or should i say Sypher.... Solicism... or Shed The Sun they get a new name every year and the band still sucks. give up.
