I figured I'd make the official TYAG disbands thread since I was already planning on it anyway...
After just reforming 9 months ago, it is with our displeasure to announce that Terminally Your Aborted Ghost is disbanding. The issues preventing us from successfully carrying out this project had been only possibilities in the past, but have presented themselves to be clearly imminent recently. We do not want to lead ourselves or anyone else to believe that TYAG could push through these issues, so there is no need for us to delay the inevitable. Fortunately the split is amicable, and we are all continuing with our other endeavors in music, audio engineering, art, etc. The body of material written most recently will not go to waste, but it is uncertain exactly what it will become and when it will be used. We apologize to anyone who was looking forward to future shows and a new album. Most importantly we would like to thank everyone that has ever supported us in any way, shape or form, especially over the last 9 months.
There is still a great amount of merchandise available, including recently printed t shirts and all 3 CD releases. We will be selling everything at discount prices and in package deals; all merchandise and ordering info will be available within the coming week.
This also means that we will be unable to perform at this year's New England Deathfest, but go anyway to support the other amazing bands on the bill!

S'all good dude. You'll hear the new stuff eventually; there is no way we are letting 11 (technically 14 if you include the interludes we wrote) songs go to waste. We put waaay too much time and energy into that shit to let it fall through the cracks. |

As much as NEDF would rule (believe me, I WANT to do it, and have argued for it) it's really un-doable. We've written and tightened probably 8 songs since we finished the tour. We have been cramming for the album. We haven't played any old songs since then. Getting everything tight enough in 3 weeks for a "last show" would sound like a fun challenge if we weren't already in debt from the tour and also had a way to pay for Devon to fly up from Tennessee.
Whatev. Composted is pretty much the same band but with silly hats.
This new Terminally material is getting taken care of though, rest assured and be patient. Good, good things are to come. |

This is the 1st time the band has officially broken up. The 1st time people recognize as the band breaking up is when the Slowly Peeling lineup fell through. After we did Inanimately Soundless a hiatus just turned into an unofficial break up. All that matters is this time it's an actual break up, not a lineup change or a hiatus. |
