we are driving down to Florida by way of the 1500 year old Angel Oak tree in South Carolina. Staying in Florida drinking drinks with fruit and umbrellas in them for a couple days then driving back home.
yeah!
The last trip we took was a week in california in july 2005.

toggletoggle post by ouchdrummer   at Feb 23,2009 9:49am

I drove it once in 1996.

and W3, if you don't get my reference, you are the fail.

toggletoggle post by xmikex at Feb 23,2009 10:45am
I know a guy who drove from Quincy to Key West, and in an effort to save money, bought 2 pounds of ham to eat for sandwiches on the road. Needless to say, unrefrigerated for a 1,600 mile trip, that ham wasn't very good for very long.

toggletoggle post by sacreligion at Feb 23,2009 12:02pm
I stayed at a friend's house outside of Charleston, SC over the summer for like a week. The drives down and back wear on you but it's worth it for the 70 degree ocean water.

He lived like 10 or 15 minutes from Angel Oak which was probably one of the more ridiculous things I've ever seen. I could build the sickest tree fort there.

toggletoggle post by sacreligion at Feb 23,2009 12:05pm

yeah, those "branches" are the size of some of the biggest trees you'll see around here.

There is a billboard on 95 south in South Carolina that says "Victory is great but honor is even greater, come with us to celebrate your proud southern heritage" or something to that effect. It's one of the most hilarious things I've ever seen.

I don't know I always thought the stripclub signs were the best part of the carolinas what the fuck is again Lamp Cafe Risque or some shit like that.

it was so weak, they made us choose between a meal or 2 drinks

toggletoggle post by Lamp  at Feb 23,2009 1:59pm
I've seen the billboards for that place, never stopped in though.

The 95 corridor is like another planet compared to the rest of the south. It's a barren wasteland that doesn't go through anything. You see a lot more cool shit on 85 or 20 or 40 than on 95.

yeah when ever I've travelled down there I've only taken 95, I forget the HW that you can take that's the backroad from VAbeach area to NC but that had some cool on it.

you should check out the beaches down the street from angel oak(you take a right off of a main road to get to angel oak, if you follow said main road straight it takes you to the beaches).

The sand and water there is amazing and you get to see a large illustrate signas you're walking towards the beach that informs you of all the animals in the water that can kill you. It's pretty awesome haha.

When I went there was a hurricane headed towards us so there was this ridiculous riptide that easily took my friends and i 100 ft. from where we were if your feet left the ground. good cardiovascular exercise.

packing up to leave now. losing the hour sucked it up big time. I wish that DST was next week cause I would be able to hit the bach again before leaving.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Mar 9,2009 7:54am
nyc traffic can suck my balls.

toggletoggle post by whiskey_weed_and_women  at Mar 9,2009 7:57am
that's gotta be some good stop and go or just stopped traffic.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Mar 9,2009 9:46am
nyc traffic added like 1 1/2 to the trip, at least. probably more like 2. they need to make a CT thru-way that skips NYC.

toggletoggle post by SkinSandwich at Mar 9,2009 10:19am
The weather is shitty, just in time for you to come home.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Mar 9,2009 1:12pm
it is gross here in gay marriageland. saw 2 spinouts into the ditch.

toggletoggle post by ouchdrummer   at Mar 9,2009 1:25pm
there are ways to circumvent NYC by going through CT.... or did you need to stop in NYC?

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Mar 9,2009 1:33pm
