The hardest part of being a music fan is keeping a straight face. Someone will hand you music that is misbegotten, tell you it's good and that many people really dig it. Your job is then to keep from laughing or crying until they're out of the room. Isis "Wavering Radiant" falls into the category of "I hope it's satire."

Isis - Wavering Radiant (2009)

This band took a sharp decline when they started getting popular. While I don't like the last two albums, but their earlier works are excellent, and I quote- "ISIS live is like sonic meditation, only you don't feel like a dirty hippie." |

err, "their earlier works"*, rather. |

this is the only album by them I haven't liked |

Based on the opinions in this thread, I'll be seeking earlier works. It's best to catch a band at the height of their game (I may be stating the obvious here). |

Mosquito Control, Celestial, Oceanic are their best |
|
What Rusty said, and I'd also throw Panopticon on their as well. |
|
Panopticon no contest for me - although I like everything these guys have put out. I actually prefer Oceanic and on but I know that's not a very popular opinion. |
|
Mosquito Control and Red Sea, back in the good ol' days when they were much more raw. I blame the current album's lack of luster on Aaron's quitting weed. It really is just very lame and uninspired, I was disappointed. I really didn't want to be. |
|
Oceanic then Celestial. Be REALLY high for maximum pleasures. |
