Oh my. I remember playing a show with 26 Beers in Keene, N.H. many years ago with my old band "Fulgore". I've wanted to see you guys again ever since that show because you guys kicked a lot of ass. I regret not making it out to see you guys since then, but I'll definitely do my best to make it to this show.
Where is Unit 11 anyway, I'm guessing Boston? Is this actually a legit venue if I have to buy a ticket or was that line Internet sarcasm I can't sense and this is a house?
I have tickets available and so does Jonah and so does pat and alex from 26 beers and aarne from livver.
Do your own shows if you dont like how I do mine. I'm selling them to people in person and explaining to these people how to get there. So its not a last minute shit fest on my email box. This isnt my first banana stand-leif from aok suicide.
If they stop playng an area because a beer hit someone in the head I don't know what to say. Other than everyone else who is in a band and still talking about it must be the most pampered pussy of all time.
Speed is prolly playing last to make sure that touring bands get to play without shenanigans, make sure you come on time and aren't too drunk to stage dive by the end!

Can't deny that I'm pretty tired from the last two or three days so if you guys find me on a couch passed out haha. So what are the set times so I can attempt to stagger the passing out haha

Does anyone know what the deal is with drinks? is it byob?
i saw lamp drop his phone while i was talking to rusty.
powerstance totally ripped. the singer's mic was sounding over blown and quiet. He ended up grabbing a megaphone and screaming into that. added more of a police presence to this place.
also, paulblah is here... and misery index. rutro.
26 beers is actually not taking a 6 month hiatus. they are forming a kc and the sunshine band cover band. they will be in fact touring with huge afros. the set wasnt as crazy as the midway show that i saw. still this is probably the best show to go out on imho.
livver started out sounded like older coalesce, but then got into something sounding more like the harder starkweather parts from the on the wire album. definitely reminded me of the 90's when hardcore/new-metalcore was all crossed up. towards the end, there was even something a little motorhead in there. bruce's vocals are more of a dry shouting/scream that reminds me of the ookla the mok vocals. they played the set almost straight through, increasing the room temperature by 15 degrees. easily.
what happens when one of the best bands IN THE UNIVERSE plays the only real punk space left in the boston area? epic. the worst part of the set is when they just ended. everyone stood there for almost 5 minutes waiting for them to continue as they packed up. sigh.

they didnt say anything, they just turned around and went about their business like they didnt just play a set. the whole crowd stood there waiting for them to start back up, but they were done and packing up.
misery index was so awesome. they torn up the stage. and the new song i was behind the drummer for? forget about it. some of the best drumming i have witness.
I wonder sometimes if Magrudergrind is just sick of what they're doing and that's why they're playing such short sets in the last year or so. Regardless of the fact, they absolutely killed like always. That's a band that never fails me.
I cut out after that because it's a work night and I didn't think it'd be worth it to sit through Misery Index and stay late. So to Ramming Speed, my apologies, I'll catch you guys another time, but will say again you guys did kick ass in Raleigh back in October...
On another note I will add that Powerstance was pretty cool, they could have had a better sounding mix but the first band never sounds all that great anyway. Do want more.
from what i saw the show was good. 26 beers killed it as did magrudergrind. didnt stick around for misery index or ramming speed. oh well.
good show was good. despite the fact that there were a few people who started to act like faggots. 2 different dudes trying to start shit with me because they were pussies. the one trendy girl who tried to talk shit to me. the douchebag she was with who was like 'hey you gonna buy me a beer? you pushed me and i spilled my beer. so buy me another one' fuck off faggot.

I was telling someone that it's awesome cause their band is actually really good. It would suck if their band wasn't good and they were on most shows (since it's their space). Sweet band, sweet dudes, sweet space.
Show was fucking good, sucks to be at work right now, i have a massive headache and that sucks but soo much fun and it was good to see a bunch of dudes that i haven't seen in a long while

It was definitely a touching moment when pete and that kid smooched on stage.
Also Godzilla, don't ask to play a show then punch a good friend of mine in the face.
personally, I like that they don't have a keg there now. I also wish that people got their cigs removed at the door, but were allowed to smoke weed out of a water cooler.

"trendy girl" is my girlfriend and dude you shoved (who's less then half your size) is my bandmate. he wasn't starting shit, just wasn't psyched to get shoved from behind for no reason and have his last beer knocked outta his hands. pretty understandable.
Also Godzilla, don't ask to play a show then punch a good friend of mine in the face.
first of all, i didnt punch anyone in the face or attempt to hit any body. all i know is that during magrudergrind i was stomping from side to side in the pit. the next thing i knew, some kid was flicking something at me. and then left. i didnt hit anyone. if i did, it was an accident. i was there to just have a good time and see magrudergrind. nothing personal, nothing malicious, nothing.
secondly, the girl incident. i was trying to get off the stage with my bag to go outside, i said excuse me twice, nothing happend, so i moved past the people in my way and the girl starts talking shit to me. i dont understand why people get pissed when someone says excuse me and when they dont even acknowledge you. and when you squeeze by them, they get pissed off. me pushing someone is very obvious.
third, that guy and his beer. i was standing in the back a few people behind the edge of the 'pit' and everytime someone came near, the guy would back up into me, i didnt push him hard, i didnt throw him, i did nothing of the sort. i moved him away from me, a few times. if he happend to spill his beer, its not my fault. and i certainly wasnt going to buy him one. its a show in a relatively small space, and there was a pit. shit happens.
no threats will be handed out, no invitations to the chinatown gate will be handed out. nothing. aside from the mishaps, the show was good. /end

Robin, I didn't want any money, don't make it sound like something its not. I thought the touring bands and room deserved more.
zilla, my friend told me he asked you to chill out and a minute later you backhanded him in the face. He had blood all over his shirt and you took off... how does that look?

i dunno, i didn't see any of it go down. i'm sure everyone's over it though.

speaking for my friends. don't know guy who got punched (back handed, whatever).

jonah to be honest, no one said anything to me. if i did hit him, it was an accident i wasnt looking for a fight with anyone. but of course, no one believes anything i say. so i might as well not try and defend myself. believe everything youve heard about me.
I would click on them and make them bigger. HD makes them look ok. I would have shot video for livver, but there were 30981935-4587430571-3541345-57 cameras running so I left video to the video people.
Ok. I'm doing shows near there soon, I'll let you know what's up.

I'm glad I didn't go to this. Seems like there was a ton of drama that always goes on with DIY shows of this size. I also wouldn't be too psyched to see my homie get knocked in the face.
