Aug. 12 -- Kylesa will release Spiral Shadow, the eagerly anticipated follow-up to their breakthrough album Static Tensions, on Oct. 26 via Season of Mist.

Recorded at the Jam Room in Columbia, SC earlier this summer, the eleven-track album was once again produced by band member and renowned producer Phillip Cope (Baroness, Withered).

Static Tensions received worldwide praise with Spin profiling the band in their November 2009 issue, Terrorizer putting the release in their top five releases of 2009, Pitchfork saying “If the world were just, Kylesa would be a household name” and Revolver awarding the release 4 stars. Over the past eighteen months, the co-ed Savannah-based quintet worked non-stop including an unrelenting tour schedule that took them around the globe three times, writing songs for the new album and ultimately recording Spiral Shadow.

Kylesa, who are currently on tour in Europe with Converge, will join High On Fire and Torche for a five-week trek beginning Sept. 29 in San Francisco and wrapping up on Nov. 7 at the Fun Fun Fun Festival in Austin. The Georgia band also recently confirmed two additional festival appearances: The Soundwave Festival (Feb. 2011 touring festival in Australia) and the Raleigh-based Hopscotch Music Festival on Sept. 11.

Dayum, they just released Static Tensions it seems. I'm sure this album will kill like pretty much everything they've ever put out.

Can't fucking wait.

Static Tensions is one of my favorite albums.

Rules. Seeing this tour in Northampton. Finally an awesome show that's less than fucking 3 hours away from shitty shithole Albany.

Band rules. Saw them with The Ocean. My drummer sense told me that one of their drummers is better than the other.
