I dunno, $15 for those three bands doesn't seem that bad... if they're your thing.

I'm a huge HOF fan so whatever.
But in general Club Hell is more expensive than As220 even with touring bands.

both venues suck
post by Fuck Logging In at Oct 22,2010 6:44pm
what's a good venue in your opinion?
post by nekronautnli at Oct 22,2010 6:47pm
any venue where i can watch a band play a motorhead cover and/or not watch my buddies get into fights with bouncers because ravers are lil' bitch cry babies
post by nekronautnli at Oct 22,2010 6:53pm
..actually i like both of the venues i was just being a dick
i don't think i have ever gotten more drink tickets for playing a show than i did at club hell
for the record, this same show at the ME tomorrow is $3 more per ticket.
... and due to going to a wedding tomorrow, I'm driving down to Providence for this tonight ... leaving in an hour or so. actually pretty psyched for this, at least to see HoF ... not a huge Torche fan but I do like them live, and I've never seen Kylesa so I'm at least curious.
much weed will be smoked.

Hipster hell, wanker metal (thus far, very unimpressed)

Wanker metal at a stoner-metal show? can't believe that!
I was real impressed by Kylesa. Torche has a confusing sound, or maybe I was just stoned out of my mind.
Wish HOF played more stuff from blessed black wings. Although the stuff from snakes sounds really good.
i don't know if it does much for them. it's hard to tell. when i saw them at church, i swear one drummer was far better than the other...which is...confusing.
missed Kylesa, which kinda sucked if only because for my $15 and hour drive each way I wanted to see all 3 bands, unfortunately it took as long to go from north station to south station in Boston as it did to get from Dedham to Providence, so I was running 30 minutes late.
and then Torche were pretty suck. they have good riffs but their songs are a mess and the vocals very meh. I tried to get into them since I was stoned, alone and ready to party, but they were just kind of dull. only the last song really worked for me, when they finally went full-on sludge.
High on Fire made it worth the trip, though. I was zooted out of my skull when they went on and the heaviness was heavy. Matt Pike rules, a modern day Rory Gallagher. all ages crowd was young but people were definitely into it. Club Hell wasn't sold out but was definitely packed.
