New site? Maybe some day.
Is this true? I didn't see her at the Palladium with Trauma Concept either. Hmmmm |
She posted something on here a while back about Sin Promo's last show and then it was bullshit. Thats the only thing I've heard though. |
The reason why she folded was....... No one was going to the shows that she was putting on!!! What the fuck!!! Megan was cool and did a lot of shit for bands in the area....... I went to a few of her death metal shows. Only 50 people would be there!!! So, if more of you dopes were going to shows instead of bullshitting on the website... May'be she'd still be in business...... |
wasn't sin promotions involved with Sick As Sin fest? I heard there was a lot of hullabaloo over that. Aganihm said they got jived pretty bad on it, but all I've heard about the fest is second hand. |
I'm not sure what happened..... But after that fest, she closed up shop.... |
plus I'm not saying ANYTHING about Sin Promotions in itself, just promotion in general: It is the promoters job to get people to the shows, more so than anyone else involved with the show -- that's what they are there to do! If you don't get people to the shows as a promoter, you're simply not accomplishing your function. A promoter picks the bands (in most cases, unless they work alongside a booking agent) and has to promote the show, create some kind of excitement over it, and basically make it so people go despite the allure of the free internet or a TV show or another rock show, even.
By far, it's one of the toughest jobs of the music industry, especially when it's a promoter who works for his or herself: they have to concrete the venue, get the bands, have to manage the show, have to promote the show, have to work alongside bands and venue to make sure everyone's happy, blah blah blah blah it's a tough gig, and it's fierce competition.
Despite the fact that I'm not into ticket selling and such, I respect that Muscle City went the distance and bought an ad on here. It shows they put a lot in to it.
I totally understand what you're saying..... But, if all of the locals that played on the show passed out fliers...... Shit, a lot more people would've came....... |
true
yeah I think bands need to acknowledge that when you get a show, the LEAST you can do is try and get people to go. I mean, since the promoter did all that shit above, you could help them out even a little.
The happiest day I had was when I booked this show in Arlington and nearly all the bands made their own flyers. I was like, "Finally, a flyer not from my own hand??"
What a happy day! |
the lesson of this story is NU METAL IS FUCKING DEAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
That was cool!!! It's great when bands (besides your own) will do work for a show..... In the past I've heard people say "Shit, CSDO is playing!! We'll let Eric and the gang do all of the leg work." The D.R.I. show we just played..... None of the opening bands made up fliers. If it wasn't for our fliers, nobody would've came...... |
Almost forgot.... Systematic Chaos sold like 30 tickets. So, they did some leg work... |

shaddup stupid. |
50 people for a local metal show is a good crowd. I don't give a shit what people may think about it.
