Clipperton is a tiny island off the coast of Mexico that is completely covered by those little orange crabs. They have successfully eaten all the vegetation of the island, and appear everywhere in large swarms. They sometimes try eat bird eggs from the local Boobie population but occasionally get injured from defensive parents, which is what happened to this guy. His arm was badly injured from a fight with a Boobie and he proceeded to rip it off as it will regenerate after the next molt.
