NEBELUNG: Heathen Harvest Debut New Song From Dark Folk Masters

“This soundtrack for us nemophilists is a gentle woodland reprieve, somehow capturing the meditative mind of Nature. As the seasons whisper death into birth, these songs reflect the continuous cycle of cessation, the ephemeral and liminal moments that are the Solstice and Equinox. It’s as if you were hiking in the woods and the flora and fauna picked up some acoustic instruments and started playing a song that led you into the other worlds.”

So intones the thoughtful review that revered post-industrial music portal Heathen Harvest gave to the latest album from German dark folk maestros NEBELUNG. ‘Palingenesis’ will be released on Swedish visionaries Temple of Torturous on February 14, 2014 on digital, CD, and a limited run of deluxe color vinyl double LPs.

To celebrate the imminent release, Heathen Harvest are streaming “Nachtgewalt,” a beautifully hushed acoustic number

‘Palingenesis’ marks the second full-length release from the German trio, and showcases the group's wistful blend of neoclassical, dark folk instrumentals. Acolytes of Rome, Of the Wand and the Moon, Tenhi, and Agalloch will find much to love. As Stereogum note,"’Palingenesis’ is impossibly delicate, impeccably rendered neofolk; it is transporting and autumnal, bringing spectral figures into focus, exploring with curiosity and wonder the darkest heart of a vast folkloric wilderness."
