Ive read that this is his version of Dawn of the Dead.Whats the difference between this and George Romeros version?I was thinking about buying Argento's version on DVD.

Basically, it's 1978's Dawn of the Dead edited different for European release. I think the cuts are too quick but, that version has more Goblin music in it. I like Romero's cut alot better. The difference in length is US version 127min. and the Euro. 118min. I got the box set which has 3 different versions of this movie.

I heard he cuts out all the "funny" scenes and makes it a more serious movie.

Picked up Zombi last night.Not much different than Romeros version.You have to really pay attention to notice the the slight differences in Argento's version.Check out Lucio Fulcis Zombie(aka Zombi 2).This one is a must see just for the gore and the zombie/shark fight.

Romeros original theatrical cut is still the best version. The directors cut is too long and makes the film drag and cuts the Goblin score. The Argento version is too short and is badly edited.
