We need help with how to obtain a work visa in advance and where to send it once completed. We are playing shows up there in May and are trying to get on the ball. Any help is appreciated

Yeah, I've got some Canadian questions too. How Anglophone friendly is Montreal, because I'm considering moving there or Victoria, BC and I cannot speak French at all.

Ok so the work visa is only so you can perform, correct? Will you be driving across the border? Do you know where in canada you will be going to? I have a phone number at home where you can speak to a live person and they will give you the answers to all yer questions..I've had to deal with immigration and customs a lot...

toggletoggle post by succubus  at Apr 28,2006 8:59pm
Hey bob, it depends on where in montreal you move to..they are good areas and bad...but if you cannot speak french you will have a hard time finding a job..unless you work for a jewish company (I'm serious)...and even then, u will have to learn the basics ...keep in mind that canada is a bilingual country...though quebec might be more french there are other cities in various provinces that are quite french as well

as Carina said, you should learn basic french. I'll tell you now though, the metal scene is alot better in Montreal than Victoria.
Griff/Cantor - go to the town hall. typically it takes 5 weeks for visas to process, you can however get a rushed delivery with some extra cash.
