This show will be at Mark's Showplace in Bedford, NH. on September 23rd. This is a showcase show put on by BRAVE WORDS BLOODY KNUCKLES magazine (from Canada) for MELIAH RAGE and CSDO. Other bands on the bill so far are : SINARIA and RED RIGHT HAND. Other people from the music business will be there also...... You must be able to sell 50 tickets. This would be a great time to get press for your band in Canada's #1 (America's #2) metal mag!!

Who are the "other people" from the music business for the incentive to sell 50 tickets? Also, is the ticket money expected upfront?

IE-is the band responsible, financially, for any of the 50 tickets unsold as long as they are given back?

It's not pay to play......... You have to sell 50 tickets at $10.00. So on the day of the show, you give Bernie $500.00....... This money pays MELIAH RAGE and pays for the people from BRAVE WORDS & BLOODY KNUCKLES and the people from CHIPSTER ENTERTAINMENT (they work with Ozzy, Judas Priest, Megadeth, etc, etc....) to fly in. Yeah, this is gayer than aids i am afraid. Since when is it a bands responsibility to pay some redneck club in the middle of nowhere $500 to play in front of no one? Call me crazy, but i would much rather play at Obriens, not be obligated to sell anything, and get money for my troubles, not pay for them. Sorry, its not the bands duty to pay for some douche's plane ticket either. That makes it even worse. No matter how you try justifying it, its just as retarded as even considering the idea. Eric is right! This isn't pay to play! Try doing a show at CBGB's or most of the clubs in California. You have to pay up front than sell the tickets (to make your money back) or you don't play!

I already sold 50 tickets for this show!! I can't wait to see Meliah Rage pull out some old tunes they haven't played in a long while........

We have played our share of pay to plays, some turn out to be disasters, and some turn out to be worth it.

Boy....... I haven't seen this much whining in a long time!! The only times we've had to "pay to play" were at the Milwaukee and New Jersey Metal Fests....... We've always sold our tickets when we've had to sell tickets. We know how to do our work.

Something more fair would be if bands werent forced to sell tickets, but if they did they split it 50/50 with the club on what they sold or something to that effect.

Yes, we had over 200. A lot of people left after we got off stage. I think they went over to the strip joint and never came back.
