New site? Maybe some day.

What the fuck is up with this bullshit? Since when is Captain Rhodes black? Im hoping that this remake is better than that AWFUL Dawn of the Dead one |
|
ok, this remake is obviously for the birds
what made Rhodes such an awesome bad guy was Joe Pilato
he was a fuckin' racist prick in DOTD! remember when he finally freaked out on Flyboy?
"might knock some sense into that jungle bunny head"
STOP REMAKES AND COME UP WITH SOME ORIGINAL HORROR SCREENPLAYS!
fuck sakes |

In all honesty I'm more pissed off about this than I was about the DAWN remake. Day of the Dead I enjoy alot more, I love that it was gritty, excessivley violent, dramatic, and well acted.
Ving is a phenomenal actor, one of my personal favorite in a long list, but I'm sorry no one could fit Rhodes now a days, except for maybe Edward Norton. Actually that wouldn't be a bad fit at all come to think of it.
But yeah, fuck this remake and fuck Hollywood producers just re-hashing great horror films into third rate garbage for pre-teens. |
|
even Tarantino cites the original DOTD as a huge influence |
|
yeah fuck that. Rhodes is amazing in that movie. if they had labeled the Dawn of the Dead remake as something else, it would have been a good movie. i enjoyed it, but it shouldnt have been a remake. this is definitely my favorite one, and this will probably just fuck it up. i bet they are making Rhodes black because of the fact that he was racist in the first one, and everything has to be "PC" now. |
|
they need Christopher Lloyd to play Dr. Frankenstein |
|
Didn't he just die in the Dawn of the Dead remake? How does it make sense for him to be back in the movie that takes place after that.... |
|
they dont explicitly show his death, so that could be a cheap way out. |
|
"Chow down, chow down!!!" *as he is getting disemboweled* |
|
Was his character Captain Rhodes though? I thought he was a cop in that. |
|
no no he wasnt supposed to be Captain Rhodes. that would be dogshit if he was. his characters name was Kenneth. |
|
they should get Charles Manson to play Miguel. |
|
Why doesn't Ving just play Flyboy?
I thought the Dawn remake was going to suck. The idea of fast zombies sounded wicked gay. But when I actually saw it, it was pretty cool. The fast moving zombies added a whole other dimension to the movie. I found it interesting.
They just better not fuck up Bub in the new one. His salute to Rhodes as he gets eaten was brilliant.

There are no more orignal ideas. Hollywood is about the $$$ and remakes make money. Of all the real fans that bitch about it there are 10 more that love the idea. That's why they do so good. Hollywood plays it safe. The days of bidding wars for original spec scripts is long gone and might never return. Every once in a while though something breaks through. Like the book World War Z by the guy that wrote the Zombie Apocalypse Survival guide. There was a bidding war for the rights even before it was released. Brad Pitt's prodco got it. But as for Hollywood taking chances like the good ole days, ain't gonna happen. |

well that sucked. the 2nd one is the one I wanted to send. |
|
When is this heap of dung going to be spewed? |
|
I love how everyone jumps the gun and already knows it's going to suck. This keen sixth sense eludes me. I think it's made by the same company that did dawn. I totally dug that movie so I hope to be just as please with day. |

Joe Pilato was in the original Dawn and Day of the dead playing 2 different characters. The two movies have nothing to do with each other. |

Ah, I thought they were a psuedo-chronological trilogy (well, there is a fourth film now, so not a trilogy, but you know what I mean). |

I thought the Dawn remake was the very definition of mediocrity, none of the deaths were frightening or gruesome, it lost the grim, inevitable pacing of the original because of the sped-up zombies (done much better in 28 Days Later) and unconvincing actors. I couldn't care less who died in the remake, but I was horrified in the original even when the corrupt soldiers bit it. Also, it was highly outclassed by other recent zombie flicks (Shaun of the Dead, 28 Days Later, I even though Land of the Dead was better). |
|
Romero says they aren't meant to connect. That way he can take freedoms like making smart zombies in land of the dead. I actually can't wait for his fifth one. It has something to do with a crew making a documentary of the dead rising. Something like that. It sounds interesting. |

I don't get it...I thought the smart zombie thing started in Day of the Dead with Bob...and was evolving through Land of the Dead (and the chronology) to the point where it was going to end up with zombies just being humans again, like some bizarre necro-morphosis.
Now I am disappointed in Romero. |
|
It's Bub. The smart zombies idea did start with land of the dead. But there still not meant to really connect. The films are supposed to stand on the own. So dead fans won't be like Star Wars fans bitching about continuty. |

Thank god for opinions then. |

Lack of continuity is really just an excuse for shoddy, lazy writing though, which is what happened so often in stuff like Star Wars or Star Trek.
You meant it started with Day of the Dead, though, right? |
|
Smart Zombies started with Day of the dead. The Dead movies started with Night of the living Dead. |
|
Day of the Dead is the best zombie flick in my opinion.I cant imagine there being any racial humor in the remake. Some of the lines in DOTD are classic.
"Youve given us a bunch of Greek Salad"
"This aint a godamn field trip people, this is a fucking war!!!"
"It might be yellow, but its still a dick"
"Im running this godamn monkey farm and I wanna know what your doing with my time!!"
"The radio is off in the mainland and all the shopping malls are closed" |
|
Next thing ya know they'll do a remake of Hellraiser and make Pinhead a nigger lol!! |
