New site? Maybe some day.

Is there an effects pedal that changes one tuning and converts it to a different tuning? No I'm not talking about the switch on a guitar that changes it to drop D or something I'm talking like an actual effects pedal where you could choose your tuning and shit. If not do you think it's actually possible? |

aaron..since this is a metal MUSIC board..why not add another flag option like "equipment or instruments or...i've noticed quite a few threads...and i'll prolly forget to tell you by the time you get home |
|
yeah a pitch shifter...i don't think they make em as to where they change to an exact tuning per string(except for maybe a roland guitar synth, they're pretty elaborate and come with a special pickup that allows you to assign a diffrent effect to each string)
i do know that most multi-effects processors have pitch shifters of different values, -1 octave, +1 octave, random values in between |

Ya, I think Roland is pretty much the only way.
you can do it with a whammy pedal or somethin, but its nowhere near precise.
Best bet would be to record normally, and use a plug in after, for True pitch and read ahead. |

good idea! |

Could be a pitch shifter but here's my idea, tell me if a pitch shifter can do this.
Take Standard E tuning for example with a basic power chord. Then with a switch of a pedal change it to like Drop D and the pedal would convert it to a cord similar to that Standard E power chord in Drop D and so on. |

ya, a pitch shifter, but it wouldnt reproduce the true pitch, and sounds all weird, digitally metallic, and warbly.
You can definitley make some freaky noises with em tho.... I will sit and make fart sounds for an hour. |
|
the roland guitar synth if that can even do it...i wanna see it's a GR-33 or something...the dude from orgy used it
you need to get the pickup separately though, to allow the option of changing effects on each string(seems too elaborate to me, and expensive)
just buy another guitar...haha |
|
So Roland synth is your only answer. |
|
ya.....buying a new guitar would be the best bet. |
