I'm interviewing him on Tuesday, and don't give a crap about Glen Benton, only the music

if anyone has any questions for him, just post them here.

You can waste your finger muscles typing useless sass which I'll just ignore anyway, or be serious and have me include extreme metal drumming ???'s as part of the interview.

how many guns does he own?

toggletoggle post by Coldnorthernvengeance  at Sep 28,2006 5:47pm
I am curious if he does some kind of cardio vascular conditioning to keep the stamina throughout the live set?

toggletoggle post by vomitthesoul  at Sep 28,2006 8:20pm
Why hasnt the problem with the MA authorities been straightened out yet? Deicide have been banned here since 1999

toggletoggle post by Coldnorthernvengeance  at Sep 28,2006 8:29pm
now that is a good question

toggletoggle post by vomitthesoul  at Sep 28,2006 8:40pm
How can you tolerate being in the same band with shithead Glen?

toggletoggle post by litacore   at Sep 28,2006 8:47pm
read original post.

I'll ask a question or two about the songwriting dynamic, but all everyone ever talks about regarding Deicide is that midget douche. Don't care, it's a tired topic. Just like the Satan crap.

TALK ABOUT METAL

Glen is what makes Deicide cool.Take him out of the band and there wouldnt be a Deicide. Its like Slayer without Tom Arraya.I have no questions for Steve besides the one about the ban in MA

Not that Glen is a cool guy but his voice is the key to Deicide's sound.

Ask him what their decision was with The Stench of Redemption album to suddenly inject a lot more musicality into the songs (anyone who has heard it knows what I mean).

Note that I'm not complaining, I actually like it.

Well the bnad lineup changed, of course the songs will be different.

What I'd like to know from anyone in an old DM band:
With everything that's happened since the first Deicide record, and all the ways that metal has branched out (slam death/ultra tech stuff/more mainstream metal channel junk) what exactly is Deicide's role in 2006? Does the band still consider itself a leader like it was 10 years ago, or are they forced to find a place for themselves in the current scheme of things?

Do you think that with the advances of technology specifically in the last 5 years, and the rammifications of said advances in terms of music (increased production quality, internet accessibility, person to person file sharing, increased marketability, etc) do you think newer bands have sacrificed innovation and subversion for higher production quality and more exposure?

toggletoggle post by RichHorror  at Sep 29,2006 11:37am
Wow, yeah. That's a really good question.

toggletoggle post by xmikex at Sep 29,2006 11:41am
I was listening to Possessed "Seven Churches" last night. The production quality is pretty bad, and it was probably difficult as hell to market it back in it's day, but it was an amazing release for it's time. A DM band that starts up today has 100x the opportunities that Possessed had (better production, CHEAPER means of production, myspace, mp3s, CDRs, etc)but musically it seems there isn't a ton of ground left to cover. Food for thought kids. Food for thought.

toggletoggle post by DrinkHardThrashHard  at Sep 29,2006 11:45am
There's still a lot of ground to cover in metal, people just have to actually listen to it instead of thinking anything new and different is threatening or 'gay'.

For example, that new Blut Aus Nord. Mind rape, and I've never heard anything like it.

There's nothing wrong with some well-done traditional metal either.

Compared to their earlier albums, Musicality aka conformity to mainstream rock expectations.

Glen is a PRIMARY influence on my vocals in Hekseri, but I know I never wanna meet him if I can avoid it!

stay in Mass. Larissa, you'll be safe(r)

I find Harper's far too conservative these days. They failed to note racist implications of the color scheme Laura Bush picked for the white house (brown carpets underfoot, white walls above shoulder level).

toggletoggle post by litacore   at Oct 1,2006 1:40am
hmmmm, so I assume you have no questions for Deicide then

toggletoggle post by Anti-Racism  at Oct 1,2006 1:42am
I have always wondered if "Sacrifical Suicide" was not about a Jew in Hitler's racist and anti-Semitic death camps, praying to a god who would in turn have him killed. Poignant, in that light.

okay, that's actually best so far.
you just upstaged anonymous!
