they're excellent. As strange as this sounds, when I listen to Nokturnal Mortum i feel like their music somehow calls to me in some primal way. I can't explain it, but there's a connection somehow.

yeah they're still together... the newest one Weltanschauung is my favorite though you cannot go wrong with them... such a shame that The End dropped them or they'd probably be at the level of recognition that Blut Aus Nord is with Candlelight right now... rumor is that their new album is going to be called Voice of Steel. Hopefully they'll do another track like The Taste of Victory

I'll agree with you about Graveland and NSBM... but Nokturnal Mortum deserve every bit of praise they've gotten... I can't say the same for Varggoth's other projects though

Very appreciated, in particular To the Gates of Blasphemous Fire and NeChrist.

Varggoth's solo ambient/black record was actually pretty good, give it a few listens, its not instant gratification.

Their first album Twilightfall is really good as well. A band that has never made the same album twice.

Nechrist is good, but I still can't get past the "yeeee heeee heeeee" gypsy yelps. That's just fucking clown shoes. As far as Slav NSBM, I gotta say that Drudkh is pretty fucking awesome. Can't stop listening to "Blood In Our Wells" and "Autumn Aurora". And while "The Celtic Winter" is great, it seems that Graveland is a bit over-rated. Perhaps the NSBM thing just gives them more notoriety than their / his music merits.

the problem with rob darken is that he writes the same album over and over again with the same patterns and even song orderings... and i'll start uploading other stuff again tomorrow to the other thread... just had to get some last minute finals stuff out of the way... by the way what does everyone think of their live set? and we should start a donation thing to get them flown in for a one off set here in new england heh
