Sonic is addicting.

I just got a smart joy USB adapter that lets me plug a playstation controller into my computer (which is like the best controller of any system) and play it with emulators and roms.


I've been playing a ton of sonic since I got it.

I love every sonic game. Last summer I played every sonic in a row (except for the new ones - they blow..) and it was quite the experience. Sonic2 = the best one

Sonic 3 and Knuckles = the breakfast of champions

ever since i bought the Ultimate Sonic collection i have been hooked. it reminded me of just how frustrating those games can be, like at the ends of 2 and 3. there are many times i've wanted to throw the controller through the tv, but i cant stop playing. Sonic Spinball is awesome too.

the original sonic games were garbage. they were graphics and processor demos! seriously. there was no story in the first one and the ones after that barely had any plot at all.

i dont know about you, but i dont play Sonic for the plot line haha. i just want to thwart Dr. Robotniks horribly constructed plans for world domination.

isnt that part of the plot? hahaha. not to mention the games were boring as fuck

I had tons of fun with sonic 2 back in the day. Also I really liked the gimmicky sonic spinball.

Honestly, there's some diehard nintendo fans out there.. but I highly enjoyed my Genesis and Master System.

I think SEGA had some really dark games as well as incredible action games, whereas after a while, Nintendo went too cartooney for my tastes. I still love SNES for the sole purpose of its RPGs, but Genesis is the winner in my book.

i remember i had sonic 3 or something on my game gear and i never fucking beat it. i could never get past this flower thing that would shoot bouncing metal balls or some shit but they all bounced differently and i would get fucking pissed and throw my gamegear.

i actually got out my gamegear to figure out what i couldnt beat. Very first fucking level in Sonic 2. The claw thing that shoots ball bearings at you. And hey guess what....still cant beat it.

HAHH!!!!! I FUCKING BEAT IT! 10 Years late but i fucking beat it. I'm actually most surprised that my gamegear still works. And the batteries that were in it were still good too.

I remember a long time ago on AIM a guy bragging to me that he had just beaten the original Metroid and it only took him 14 years.

i got thousands of roms... but it's still not hte same as playing it on the system.

well i think the old school systems like old nintendo and sega and atari are still just as good as emulators. i mean c'mon there were only 2 maybe 3 buttons to worry about. n64 and playstation emulators are pretty dumb becaue the controllers are way more intense.

aladdin and nba jam were better on the SNES... and not only because the SNES had a way better sound chip.

nah... all my friends had them and i played a lot on them. Vectorman and the Thunder Force series are pretty much the shining stars on sega. Maybe Castlevania Legends or whatever it was called. i had a SNES from age 5 on. everyone else had genesis. the biggest problem i had was MK1 for genesis. that one had blood which was cool. and subzero's head rip fatality. SNES was tame. after that.. SNES had the advantage with MK games. street fighter on genesis? fuck that. you had to hit start to switch between kicks and punches. GAY. SNES did everything else better. even zombies ate my neighbors.

Vectorman was pretty sweet.

I had the "Aaah!! Real Monsters" game as a kid for Sega too which was a blast.
