I haven't seen you and Chris in ages. We should prob. get some beers and discuss music...and proceed to agree on nothing hahaha

This was by far one of the most outrageous things I have ever seen...
the baffling on the ceiling fell and almost decapitated The _ Network
Pete smashed: A cable, his pedals, his pedal board, and a microphone
The place was in shambles, I am in awe
holy shit!!!!!!!!!
plus the owner didn't mind at all, he was smiling. How odd. |

This was a fun one...even though I think we ended up playing for just the bands that stuck around we still managed to have fun....we haven't played out in the last few weeks so I think we were just itching to play out again...
I agree though the art space was kinda a wierd venue, if this place was in worchester or closer to Boston I think it would have a lot of potential...the guy that runs the place was real nice though, kinda felt bad for him though, he was saying that after 13 years of having the art space open they are now threatened to close it due to lack of funds....what happened to the all art fart kids? Damn hippies! |

People should start going to shows here...you can even take the commuter rail to it. Seriously fun place to see a show. |
|
Artspace! He really has been doing shows for ever. Want to know a funny little fact? The guy who runs and owns it is Shep Abbot...he is writer/creator of the movie C.H.U.D....classic 80s monster flick.
The writers of Donnie Darko wanted to have C.H.U.D. playing in the movie theatre during a scene in Donnie Darko...but they couldn't locate the writer...Shep...hahah. I guess no one told them he runs the Artspace in Gloucester.
Also, don't feel bad for Shep. Although it is hard maintaining the venue, the man loves what he does, and in the Artspace's heyday, they had TONS of huge shows...mostly from arty, ska, and nu metal shows. I'm talking like 200 kids at every show. |
|
Thats his new address. He was located for several years at another downtown location...and considering you could pack 150 into a place like exit 23, I dont think thats really any stretch of the imagination. |
