I go to Emerson college in Boston and I have a freind who is an editor for the arts & life section of the schools paper. He has been bugging me for some time to write a feature on metal. Since it never gets covered, what I am intending to write will be bands from the area and events coming to the area. So if you're a Boston area band that plays Boston area shows often ad you would like to have a short connection leave me some information here.

The story is going to run about 3 weeks from now...so events for around the end of the month I am going to be researching.

Yah, I would prefer to cover New England as a whole scene, rather narrow it to not so fun Boston. But hardly anyone here has cars and they are not going to concerts anywhere outside of Alston.

also...it's just a brief flicker of an idea right now....but I am thinking about getting people together to start putting together shows in the spaces we have here at school. It's free for me to get the rooms, as long as I book them in advance. I know nothing about putting on shows here, but there was a recent Shipwreck show here, that i hear went really well. It go me thinking, maybe I can do it.

if you do, we'd totally be down for it, we love those kinds of things. We actually played a school in town two days ago. I heard about the Shipwreck thing after the fact.

my band is from NH but i'm trying to get more shows in the Boston Area. good luck with the story, i've been tryin to come up with a similar story idea for some time now.

my band, dreaded silence, is playing a show at o'brien's pub in allston next wednesday, put on by rich horror, with sin of angels, howl, and ancient master. you should come down and interview the bands and rich. a rich horror interview is not only great for an article, but also great for your resume. the bands on the bill are pretty diverse and would make for a nice article.

Boston metals window is gone. Bands only care about themselves. Jealousy is all too common. People only go to see their friends bands and leave. Move away because going by experience, other states will welcome you more and people will give you a chance.
