I've recently decided I want to grab some more stompboxes just for the hell of it..
I'm not talking Distortion or anything like that - I currently have that (don't use it) and a delay pedal. I also have one of those big digitech multi-pedals, can't remember the model number.

Anyway, there's a couple sounds I'm interested in creating.. help me out if you can:

"Thick" Lead sound - think Old Dissection lead sounds, old In Flames, hopefully you get the idea. Like for example, the lead on Where Dead Angels Lie uses this sound. I'm not too sure if it's a combination of effects, the amp, or whathaveyou.

Acoustic Guitar Simulator: Never really used one of these... does anyone recommend one or have experience with one? Although I have an acou/elec, I'm looking for one of these.

a GOOD flange pedal: recommendations?

and a good Chorus pedal. recommend me some.

Thanks

fuck pedals they are noisy and crappy. keep the signal clean and short. to get quality effects on your guitar you just need to take drugs.

note taken. haha

Take your guitar head and soak it in water. That's what I do to get my unique guitar sound.

Electro Harmonix makes the best reverd and chorus pedals IMO.... Holy Grail Reverb and Small Clone Chorus...

I have a Boss Acoustic Simulator...it's pretty cool and does the job well enough; you're never going to get an electric guitar with hot pickups to REALLY sound like an acoustic but this pedal gets you close enough.

Good thick lead sounds...I think you just need to tweak your head, maybe get a boost pedal like a TS9 or something...

This is obviously the cop that Rich Horror winked at in court.

im actually in the market for a flanger and a acoustic sim....

im saving up for an mxr flanger (probably the new evh dunlop one cause the older ones are $$$) but they still sound sweet.

also ive only seen 2 acoustic sim single pedals the boss, which i have yet to hear but heard theres a lot of noise. and the behringer, which is only 30 bucks but is probably noisy as hell, but 30 bucks isnt too much of a loss.

and as far as reverb or chorus... definitely try the electro-harmonix, affordable and they sound sweet.

and the ibanez tube screamer might help you out for a boost, especially if you can get your hands on a nice modded new one or an older one... also try an equalizer pedal....its the only stompbox i use, it can really change your tone when u mess around

No, the cop was not all enough to reach a keyboard. In fact, his uniform didn't fit.

I place my highest endorsement on Mr. Robert Keeley's pedals. His modded Tube Screamer and the Keeley Compressor should give you that lead tone you covet without the noise. I think you even get a discount when you order them together. Party like a werewolf.

Haha -- vertically challenged cops are hilarious. They are also douchebags, because they are angry at the world that they are 5'3".

i know that at the gates used the boss HM-2 heavy metal pedal for 'slaughter of the soul,' and im pretty sure i heard somewhere that in flames, and dark tranquility used it too in their older stuff. they stopped making em awhile ago, but they go on ebay for like 40-50 bucks.

if you have a Flash-enabled web browser, Electro Harmonix has new video-based demos of all their effects pedals

AGREE AGREE AGREE

I have the rackmount version and it has been the best decision. Best noise reduction system on the market. For sure.
