TANGLEWOOD!!!

Sat 30th
Tanglewood Jazz Festival: "A Celebration of Marian McPartland's 90th Birthday" With Special Guests: Nnenna Freelon, Mulgrew Miller, and
Spencer Day

Sun 31st
Tanglewood Jazz Festival: Eddie Daniels Quartet

If you've never been there before, it's beautiful. Probably the nicest amphitheatre i've ever been to. There's a stage under a roof, but with no walls, its called the shed. The sound inside it is great, you can hear all the clicks and clacks of all the instruments. But sitting out on the lawn is JUST as cool. The lawn is a hill that is up the side of a small valley, so you can see out over tons of beautiful area from there. You can even buy entire bottles of wine to drink on the grass. Between the wine, and the copious amounts of weed i was smoking(it's outside, i couldnt resist) the day i saw Bela Bartoks' music a couple weeks ago was delightful.
It's in Lenox ma, which is right smack dab in the middle of the berkshires. I think if you have any appreciation for classical/jazz/the outdoors, you would really enjoy tanglewood. Although this whole weekend is a jazz fest, it will still be incredable.

aboslutely.. i love classical and jazz.. i missed th enewport jazz fest.. which sucked bc cat power played... it was just far too expensive for my budget. i will def look into this.. ive been stoked on going out to the mohawk trail for so long.. just never really got around to it.. well, basically havent had a vacation in 2 1/2 years. motherhood<3

tanglewood sounds cool.. guess it depends on my mood on if i wanna be surrounded by a assboat of people.

That place is awesome.

'tis...that whole area of S/hadley/hadley/amherst is boring as a whole, but there's some cool little places that kind of make it ok

northampton is the yo-yo-ing capital of the northeast

toggletoggle post by ellesarusrex  at Aug 28,2008 11:16am
there's a dinosaur fossil place in s.deerfield..

toggletoggle post by SacreligionNLI at Aug 28,2008 11:17am
the only dinosaurs you'll find in deerfield are yuppy fuck-yas with too much money to die.

toggletoggle post by ellesarusrex  at Aug 28,2008 11:36am
i want to find actual dinosaur bones.. sometimes i go in the woods and make up stories with my friend lauren about branches and tree limbs that have fallen.. pretendng they are prehistoric creatures. bc im a nerd

toggletoggle post by SacreligionNLI at Aug 28,2008 11:40am
is that a recent thing or something you did when you were younger? both answers are acceptable.

toggletoggle post by ellesarusrex  at Aug 28,2008 11:46am
haha this is most def something i have been doing my entire life. i have a pretty absurd imagination..

toggletoggle post by SacreligionNLI at Aug 28,2008 11:49am
i used to pretend that massses of tree branches and leaves were monsters so i'd have something to run from and then turn the woods into an obstacle course. i wonder what that says about my psyche.

toggletoggle post by mOe  at Aug 28,2008 11:51am
i think that means you're gay

i might've just been obsessed with shows like GUTS, legends of the hidden temple, and wild & crazy kids.

toggletoggle post by ellesarusrex  at Aug 28,2008 11:56am
those shows are still on the nick game show network.. for some reason legends of the hidden temple always pissed me off. but i still watched it.

toggletoggle post by SacreligionNLI at Aug 28,2008 11:58am
how can it piss you off? it's like watching a bunch of retards try to fuck a door knob.

my favorite are the spazzes on GUTS. the ones where you can tell the parents were like "you'll be on guts and like it" and the kids like "have you ever seen me play soccer before? i suck!"

and then they make an ass of themselves on national tv.

toggletoggle post by ellesarusrex  at Aug 28,2008 12:15pm
thats what most people do on reality television

toggletoggle post by SacreligionNLI at Aug 28,2008 12:18pm
yeah but this involves motor skill-less kids in precarious situations!

toggletoggle post by ellesarusrex  at Aug 28,2008 12:22pm
remember moon shoes? i used to put them on and play with my skip it.. shit was skill.. also cant do that on television was A #1.

toggletoggle post by SacreligionNLI at Aug 29,2008 9:14am
i never got to use moon shoes. son of a bitch.

thats because you're fat.

We used to put those things on and jump off really high objects thinking it would make us jump higher.

Not the case. Please believe.

mt. greylock state forest. awesome hiking!

if you don't mind trespassing, then i suggest walking, at least a little bit of it, of the hoosac tunnel.
