I know what you're saying, but sliding into home and colliding with the catcher? Also pitching and the training and conditioning they go through should justify it as a sport rather than a game. It's not billiards here. It's a hybrid of a game and a sport. Baseball was my favorite sport growing up and still continues to be. I'll never forget the state tournaments; best time of my life. |

i say that half joking and half serious. baseball definitely has its share of hard-nosed play, like taking out the catcher at home plate and bench-clearing brawls. it definitely takes a lot more athletic ability than golf, billiards, poker, and whatever else espn tries to convince us is a sport. |
