inspired by the comus appreesh thread? |
nah, i was listening to A Nod and a Wink for the first time and the title track floored me for some reason and i felt like i had to share how bad ass i think this band is. |
been meaning to check them out... i heard that they were an influence of Opeth (much like Comus). |
yeah, that has been said before. been a fan of Camel for like 10 years now. a buddy of mine told me that they were an influence of Opeth's and i checked out Mirage and was hooked. |
the musicianship is pure and music itself is skillfully laid out... true prog. tons of wholesome and natural sounding melodies. |
Plenty of excellent prog from England. |
true. also quite a few from USA as well.
Hats off to England, though. King of prog music. Well, king of rock music. Some could argue king of metal as well, given the NWOBHM. What the fuck is in the water there? |
All England is good for now, metal-wise, is shitty faggotdeathcore bands. |
got mirage a million hundred years ago on vinyl, still is my favorite. I got nude on casette, not as good |

Opeth structures their riffs the same way as camel and stole parts from them. Listen to the beginning of the moor then listen to the great marsh. |
