seriously. 8 string chugga wugga nonsense. i really like resurrection macabre, but this is shit. reminds me of when patrick mameli did the huge style change to rap metal (M-187 or whatever it was called). hes doing it for the nu deathcore buttdarts now. |
the new album artwork is just as laughable.
wtf?!...last album ruled. how could they change so much in 2 years? |
I had no faith in Mameli after I heard that C-187 project. He just had to tarnish a fundamental band. Still love everything they did before reforming. |

i hate to say it, but did anyone expect this to be good? |
i did. i thought the 'comeback' album (resurrection macabre) was awesome. great mix of the older classic stuff and spheres/testimony style techness. |
i kinda dug that last one too...i dont love spheres but I do love testimony and there was enough of that in there... |
resurrection macabre was meh. ONLY NEW CANDLEMASS IS REAL |
Vocals on this are fucking terrible. The one riff that takes up 3/4 of the song wasn't that bad the first time around. |
I like listening to this track now just because it's so AWFUL. |
I love when he exclaims, "motherfuckers!" This will definitely piss off my parents. |

Some random midieval/cathedral setting - CHECK
Tapestries containing some sort of extreme or "evil" markings - CHECK
HURR DURR EVIL POPE - CHECK
More random microphones than are needed - CHECK
Everything about the cover looking photoshopped - CHECK
Somebody get this fucking band a medal or something |
From what I remembered of Resurrection Macabre, it felt incredibly uninspired. So this doesn't surprise me too much. |
Bummer. I remember seeing them way the fuck back in the day, they played in Hadley...
man, i really dig the grooves on this, there are a lot of meshuggah-type chugs which might turn off some. but this still has killer fills and warped pestilence leads, and i love that goddammnnn tone. it's all in the mix, i dig the vocals, drums, everything. it really does it for me. i mean, for what it's worth, i don't like the vomit the soul chugslam bands you guys have been posting lately, but this rules. maybe we're coming from different angles here. all of pestilence's material get's me pumped and this isn't any different. |
from your description it sounds like i might enjoy this. i'll have to check it out for myself. |
tom i think you would, especially if you liked their last album. i can mayyybe see how blue came to that conclusion with that one song though. |
