that's not just one program, it's probably a bunch of programs.
and they use a wacom tablet (small ones $200 but the new ones are coming out)
3d studio max
http://www.discreet.com/

freehand

2D models - illistrator
http://www.adobe.com/products/illustrator/main.html

to gel it all together in the end - photoshop
http://www.adobe.com/products/photoshop/main.html

they probably also do macs.

rev you forgot

POSER (character models)

BRYCE (some landscaping)

toggletoggle post by RustedAngel at Sep 29,2004 9:00am
both of those gamma ray albums look painted in illustrator and photoshop.... the stratovarius albums do look really cheap (bryce/poser) combo.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Sep 29,2004 9:00am
I was going to say poser, but I couldn't see close enough to tell if they used poser.

also, bryce is only good for simple but lush looking landscapes.
which you can do in 3d studio max. granted bryce is way way way easier.
so I did forget about that one.

have fun
see ya at 3
now slaving my life away for the man

toggletoggle post by My_Dying_Bride at Sep 29,2004 9:02am
where can i get these for a price that wont put the us economy in fiscal depression

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Sep 29,2004 9:02am
the gamma ray albums look more like airbrushed and then scanned and re-touched in ps with some cheap 3-d stuff around it.

the stratovarious covers are too small, but look like cheap new wave cd covers

toggletoggle post by RustedAngel at Sep 29,2004 9:03am
piracy my friend.

toggletoggle post by My_Dying_Bride at Sep 29,2004 9:03am
you have bryce or poser by any chance?

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Sep 29,2004 9:29am
I think I have bryce 3 and 4
I forget what poser I have.
I never use them

toggletoggle post by My_Dying_Bride at Sep 29,2004 9:34am
are they bins on your comp or cdroms?

toggletoggle post by dreadkill  at Sep 29,2004 10:06am
bryce and poser are too generic. use 3d studio max or something comparable for 3d modeling. i have lightwave (ugh!)
