anyone good at this program?
I have a shape that I need to bend in the middle.
it's a rounded rectangle.
I need to bend it in the middle like a clown-animal balloon.

you can either use the direct selection tool or just remake the shape with the pen tool and you can bend it easily with that

sorry, I'm new at this... want I want to do is turn the object that I have (looks sort of like a good and plenty) into something that looks like:

one of those lines.. the sound waves...
any ideas?

if you just go over it with the pen tool and fill in the spots that you need too it shouldn't take you long to remake you image

I don't want to re-make it... I want to bend it so it's a object and I can make it 300 dpi.

looks like what I need is an envelope.
unfortunately it's in adobe illistrator 10, not 8 (which is what I have)

Rev, did you find a solution yet? if not let me know, I work in Illustrator CS here at work and could try to assist...

Ditto - I've got CS as well, if you need any help, let me know.

Unfortunately, not very good at tutoring or instruction so I'd just do it for you and THEN tell you how I did it.

I just installed the tryout version of illistrator.
I'm going to try the warping envelope and if not, i'm sure I can make a envelope mask or something.
