But Manowar kills.

toggletoggle post by thegreatspaldino   at Mar 7,2005 2:28pm
Manowar's bassist is really fucking talented... but they are so far beyond gay that ... they are just really gay. Rhapsody will fucking RUIN everything.

toggletoggle post by dan. at Mar 7,2005 2:29pm
HOLY SHIT. i just read up there someone mention running wild.

running wild and manowar would be the greatest thing thats ever happened. they have a new album - it probably could have happened. although im sure running wild doesnt want to open for manowar.

rhapsody is alrite..but their gonna sound like shit compared to manowar. fucking badass.

toggletoggle post by Josh_Martin at Mar 7,2005 2:41pm
Why can't they book Manowar with a good band like Immortal again? That was a perfect combo.

hahaha, yeah that was a good one. I almost got that show in PVD if Immortal were touring by themselves, but obviously not. I laughed my ass off at that show....

Manowar / Rhapsody (first ever U.S. Tour) Holyhell @ The Palladium Worcester MA

toggletoggle post by Al_Ravage   at Jun 19,2005 2:29pm
Holy Hell - they were OK, their choices of covers couldn't have been lamer though, should have just stuck to orignals and laid off the Andrew Loyd Webber

Rhapsody - they were decent. I like some of their songs and they pulled them off well... the stuff I didn't like about them also showed (too much balladry... FAR FAR too many intros) and they had pointless and mediocre-at-best bass and drum solos in a short set...should have just played more songs

Manowar was Manowar...played lots of stuff from Louder Than Hell...played Hail and Kill...a little bit of a short set overall though... with the standard hilarious Joey Demaio rant at the end

good time had by all

toggletoggle post by moran   at Jun 19,2005 2:36pm
Hail and Kill was the absolute best thing I have ever seen live.

toggletoggle post by alisterfiend  at Jun 19,2005 2:37pm
this show was fucking great....its too bad the sound at the palladium is so wretched, it would have been a lot better.....did anyone else see a striking resemblance between the bass player of rhapsody and Dio?

toggletoggle post by Spaldino on a fucking mac... lame at Jun 19,2005 4:27pm
the rhapsody bassist is awesome

toggletoggle post by malettey  at Jun 19,2005 4:38pm
holy hell kinda sucked....i didn't care much for them, plus their guitar player and keyboard player were wearing sunglasses indoors. and i think eric adams's surprise appearance was kinda lame. the only good things about holy hell was that their set was short and their singer was hot.

rhapsody was awesome, great performance by them. the only problem i had with them was that there were too many solos, that time could have been used to play more songs. other than that, they were great!

manowar was really awesome to watch as well, and loud as fuck! like rhapsody, there was too much soloing from the guitarist and bass player, even though they play very well, they could have played more songs with that time. also, joey demaio's speech at the end all about "true" metal and fighting for everything was pretty corny but funny at the same time.

all in all, i had a good time, it was a fun show. i'm glad i went, but i was angry to come home at 3:00 a.m. and have to get up at 6:00 to go to work!

toggletoggle post by dan. at Jun 19,2005 5:50pm
i had alot of fun...good times, good people..great show. missed holy hell...sounds like i should be glad!
rhapsody were fun as shit. i was really into their show. i dont know too much of their music beyond one album...but they definetly kept my attention. sweet bass solo! the drum solo might have been good, uhh no clue because i couldnt hear it. fuck the palladium.
manowar were great - i was slightly disapointed. they didnt play enough songs but that was to be expected. also, NOT ENOUGH 10 MINUTE SOLOS <-- (denotes sarcasm). really missed not hearing violence and bloodshed. maybe next time.

but it was fun as fuck - worth every penny!

toggletoggle post by BestialOnslaught  at Jun 19,2005 5:51pm
I had a blast, despite the shoddy MANOWAR setlist... Way too much focus on the last 2 albums. Didn't see the other bands, Heavy Metal Parking Lot was in effect!

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Jun 19,2005 7:23pm
rhapsody: the sound there for them was awesome. I sat upstairs with lynne for a while and watched it. they played really well and sounded almost exactly like the CDs. and why? well, you could tell that a lot of the set was pre-recorded unfortunately. from the samples, intros, outtros, and a lot of the synth work. they had a really good stage show even though they kept leaving the stage for no real reason only to come back a second later. they did this like 20 times. at one point, they had a girl in a wedding dress, bathed in blue light and holding a flashing ball. oh, and i thought the bassist was awesome. the bass solos sounded good. I saw a pit during their set. weird...

Man o War: I walked through while they were doing a ballad song. if there is anything I had it's their ballads. I left the room to watch the end of hate eternal. when I came back it was just in time for "gods made heavymetal". a song that I find hilarious to quote... they only played like one song after that with a lot of stage stuff. Joey D. was up on a platform cause he's short. before their encore, he did do a wicked bad rant. let me sumarize (cause it was hilarious)
"an interviewer asking me 'what kind of person goes to see man-o-war'. I knew right then that this was an asshole and I would never do another interview ever again. I told him 'blahblah people that had a hard life blah blah'...
so when ever I see someone wearing a man-o-war shirt, it's them saying 'FUCK YOU'
If people say shit about this metal town of WORCESTER, I say 'FUCK YOU'
We brought a semi full of gear in here to put a PA in this shit hole, FOR YOU!
We brough 4 tour buses, FOR YOU!"
that was it.. sort of full of contradictions I would say... since I didn't get to use the tour buses.
also, no one said 'FUCK YOU' to him when he called the palladium a 'shit hole'.
Their set was rediculously short. was that even an hour?

toggletoggle post by DreamingInExile   at Jun 19,2005 7:39pm
this show pwned

toggletoggle post by BestialOnslaught  at Jun 19,2005 7:54pm
They did 13 songs and 2 solos, so yeah, that was about 75-80 minutes... Why can't they do 180 here like in Europe?

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Jun 19,2005 9:24pm
cause this isn't europe?
they sold out or close to sold out the downstairs. this is by far the largest palladium crowd that I've seen them once or twice at the palladium and the crowd wasn't that big those times.
also, they played haverhill 2 years ago for ~200 people.

toggletoggle post by swamplorddvm  at Jun 20,2005 1:22pm
GOOD FUCKING HELL! What a show! LOUD as Nile and Rhapsody kicked ass. Then I got to meet one of the dudes from Krisiun. That was cool.

she didn't get her wish though
