Faust Agin Eddie suffers broken finger / wrist; fill-in guitarist announced.

The Taste of Silver's Faust Agin Eddie (aka Nicholas Cigarettes) suffered a fracture to the middle bone of his left hand pinky on Saturday, October 15th. Doctors additionally speculated a minor fracture in the left hand wrist, thus isolating the majority of his left hand, and rendering him incapable of playing the existing catalog of TTOS songs. Pins, and possibly wire, will be placed to retain proper placement of the bones until mid-way though the healing process, at which point they will be extracted and a cast will be used for the remainder of the time.

"I'm not too upset," spoke Eddie, "It gives us a chance to be creative -- sort of think outside the box. We're the kind of band where that kind of mindset is favored."

"The healing time is assumed to be about three weeks. We have a small handful of shows in that time frame so I am very pleased to announce that Stash Wyslouch of Devil In The Kitchen has agreed to fill in for at least one of those dates. His first show will be Friday, October 28th in Woburn, MA. We are openly brainstorming other ideas, too, so I expect some interesting performances to happen during all of this!"

Other possible solutions the band are considering include, if available, fill-ins by Alex Wilde from Disaster Strikes, Peter Blue from Raising Kubrick, and other special guests; one-time-only remixes of songs; and some unique takes on involving woodwind, brass, or piano based instruments.

The band is hoping to be back in full-form by their November 19th show at Franklin-Pierce College, and doctors expect recovery by Doolinfest/Raising Kubrick's last show.

it's always weird when a band/person writes about themselves in 3rd person. hahaha. It's like "Nick, you could just tell us you broke your wrist!"

thanks everyone for all the positive comments.

as an UPDATE:

yesterday they told me surgery is now being frowned upon as it will havwe less of a likelihood of healing right. It was the 3rd or 4th person in the plastic surgery department but it was also the first like super trained hand specialist. They are still expressing some concern about my wrist and that is their focus it seems, as they are having a return visit to XRay it again. The wrist issue is there is a small, poorly vasculated area with a tiny bone there that, if damaged, heals totally wrong 99% of the time and causes a world of crud.

So long story short, if the finger is the only issue, I can play the 19th and 26th of November. If it's the wrist, well, I don't want to consider that cause they said 12 weeks for THAT. Plus I can move the wrist fully and it doesn't hurt at ALL but for some weird reasons became all bruised and tender this week out of nowhere. Odd.

thanks again for all the support!!!!

ALSO: Alex Wilde is filling in (with me on keyboards) November 3rd in Fitchburg MA.
